Sigh... what a tiring day... Metro CIP turned out to be just a 5 hour long stand feste, with you repeating the same phrases over and over again the entire 5 hours...

Me: Hi mdm, would you like to...
Tai Tai 1: *stares at you like you are some creature from outer space, then walks away...

Me:Hi mdm, would you...
Tai Tai 2: *walks past you without even noticing you...

Admittedly, those were thankfully in the minority, but they can really irk you at times... Most of the people were nice and generous... surprisingly, most of those donating (and donating big) were locals... Alot thought nothing of donating either $5 or $10, the highest record was even $20!! There were many other kind souls who donated $2 and even took the trouble to dig out coins when they were short of small denominations, and they just poured out their whole wallet worth of coins... There was also this interesting Mum with a whole gaggle of kids, and she was like forcing all her kids to donate $2 each, saying things like, "look at those poor boys, got to stand there for so long, must help them! DOn't be like stingy heartless Singaporeans!!! ..." Haha, she really made my day... To think that such nice considerate and colourful characters live in Singapore... makes me proud to be a Singaporean... *sobs! Hey Madam, if you're reading this, i salute you!!!

However, i loathe the thought of having to go to the place again for another session... I find this all quite meaningless.. Firstly, the experience was horrifying at the 4th and 5th hour... You feel mentally drained, speaking to so many people... Your legs feel weak, after standing at the same position for prolonged periods of time... You feel lousy, after being rejected for the umpteenth time.. And all this money, you don't even really know who is going to use it... Sure, " the vietnamese kids are goin to get an education, healthcare services, blah blah...", but somehow I don't like this form of CIP... I'd rather spend the time doing more productive things that i can see, such as cleaning out a beach, tutoting weak students etc.. MEbbe its just me... Seriously, i would rather spend the time to hold some tution classes or something..

Sigh... so tired, must go and sleep liao... cyaz all...
